Make sure to have a selection of different kinds apples to show and
present to the children:
Activity 1 > Health and Nutrition > Apple
1. Apples
a Fruit with "A-Peel" for for 4th and 5th graders
but adaptable to many ages. Discuss that an apple is a fruit.
2. Visit Apple at Dole
to learn fun facts. It is important to eat fruit to be
healthy.

Activity 3 > Crafts > Apple Theme and Apple Tree

Review and select an apple theme crafty activity below that is age
appropriate:
1. Apple
prints placemat: Cut an apple in half and dip in red, green,
yellow paint to make apple prints on light colored construction
paper. When paint is dry, add leaves, smile, eyes and letter A
noses. Optional > laminate.
2. Apple Fingerprints or Stickers Tree >
Skills > Numbers > Counting
Discuss that various fruit, such as apples, cherries and oranges
grow on trees. Trees grow from the seeds in the fruit.
Print this tree
coloring page, Johnny Appleseed is taking a nap under the tree
or picnic theme.
Have children color the image first. Children can decorate the
tree with "apples": painted fingerprints (poster
paint or washable ink pad), red round stickers or red paper cut-outs
using a coin as a template. Have children add
five or ten apples. Have them count them to
practice numerals and number order.
