The Bear and the Travelers
Once upon a time, two friends were traveling together through a quiet forest. The sun peeked through the trees, and birds chirped happily. Everything felt peaceful—until suddenly, a big brown bear came crashing out of the bushes!
One friend was so scared, he quickly climbed up a tree and hid among the branches. The other friend couldn’t climb. So, remembering something he’d heard before, he dropped to the ground and stayed very, very still—just like he was asleep. He had heard that bears don’t bother people who look like they’re not moving.
The bear came close and sniffed the friend’s head. Sniff sniff... sniff sniff... Then, thinking the friend was just a pile of clothes, the bear wandered off into the woods.
When the bear was gone, the friend in the tree climbed down. He laughed nervously and said, “It looked like that bear whispered something in your ear! What did he say?” The friend brushed off his clothes and said, “He told me it’s not very kind to leave your friend behind when trouble comes.”
True friends stick together—even when things get scary.
