The Fox and the Lion

Aesop's Fable: The Fox and the Lion · Preschool Printable Activities and Crafts

Once upon a time, a young fox was exploring the forest when—oh my!—he saw a lion for the very first time. The lion was big, strong, and had a golden mane that shimmered in the sunlight. The fox was so surprised and scared that he ran away as fast as his little legs could carry him!

The next day, the fox saw the lion again. This time, he didn’t run right away. He peeked from behind a tree and watched the lion quietly. Then, he tiptoed away.

On the third day, the fox saw the lion once more. But now, he wasn’t scared at all. He walked right up to the lion and said cheerfully, “Hello there, big guy!” The lion blinked in surprise. He didn’t say anything, but the fox just smiled and trotted off.

Just because something feels less scary over time doesn’t mean it’s safe. Be brave, but stay careful.
